Tax Due Dates

The Summer Tax Bill Statements are mailed July 1st. The summer taxes are due by August 31st without penalty.

The Winter Tax Bill Statements are mailed December 1st. The winter taxes are due by February 14th without penalty.

Note: If a mortgage company is responsible for the payment of your property taxes, the tax statement will be sent directly to their tax department or servicing company, provided they have submitted a written request for us to do so.

Note: If a bank, land contract holder, mortgage company or their servicer, is responsible for the payment of your property tax payment and you received the statement, please contact their office and inquire as to where they want you to forward the bill for payment, you may also wish to request that they solicit the bills directly from the City in the future.

Note: It is ultimately the owner’s responsibility to assure that the taxes are paid.

Note: Failure to receive a tax statement does not waive responsibility of payment within normal terms.

Note: If a tax statement reaches you in error, please do not destroy it. Return the tax statement to the City.

Note: Your cancelled check is your receipt. Checks are accepted only as a conditional payment. If not honored by bank, tax is unpaid and subject to unpaid tax penalties along with a $30.00 fee on returned checks.

Note: If a receipt is requested, please send a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment for a receipt to be mailed to you.

Note: Businesses in existence on tax day shall be taxed as such for the full year. Personal and Real property are assessed as of tax day, December 31.
