How do you calculate my water bill?

Water bills are determined by the amount of water that passes through your water meter multiplied by the current water and sewer rates. For example, if you receive a bill and in the “usage” column you were billed for 20 units of water, we would calculate your bill as follows:

$90.20  - Water Rate 20 x 4.51 (WT on your bill)
$97.20  - Sewer Rate 20 x 4.86 (SW on your bill)
$4.75  - Typical Meter Charge (MT on your bill)
$38.72 - Garbage/ Rubbish Charge (GR on your bill)
$87.24 - Stormwater Runoff
$318.11  - TOTAL

Effective July 1, 2020. Water and Sewer rates were approved by City Council on June 15, 2020. Stormwater treatment cost will now be displayed as an individual line item on all customers water bills going forward. For more information on our stormwater billing changes, visit this webpage.
