• As of May 18, Greenfield Road is closed over I-696 in Southfield/Oak Park for approximately two months for bridge repair work.
• Greenfield Road north of Lincoln Avenue to 12 MiIe will be down to one lane in each direction through mid-July.
• The Greenfield entrance and exit ramps will continue to be closed for some time.

Detour (Northbound/Southbound Greenfield):

• Use the I-696 service drives (eastbound or westbound)
• Access Greenfield via the crossover/turnaround bridges

• WB I-696: Reduced to two lanes open from Dequindre Road to I-75
• WB I-696 ramps to NB/SB I-75: Closed
• NB/SB I-75 ramps to WB I-696: Closed
• WB I-696 shared ramp to Lahser, US-24/Telegraph, and M-10/Northwestern: Closed

Now through August, 2026

• WB I-696 exit to NB I-75
  • Detour: NB M-53 → WB M-59 → NB I-75
• WB I-696 exit to SB I-75
  • Detour: SB M-53 → WB M-102 (8 Mile Rd) → SB I-75

April 8 through early summer

• SB I-75 exit to WB I-696
  • Detour: WB M-102 (8 Mile Rd) → NB M-10 → WB I-696

Feb. 28 through 5 p.m. June 3, 2026

• NB I-75 exit to WB I-696
  • Detour: WB M-102 (8 Mile Rd) → NB M-10 → WB I-696

Upcoming Closures

• Southfield Road: Expected closure in late summer

Project Timeline

• Roads and bridges west of I-75 are anticipated to reopen by fall 2026
• Work east of I-75 is expected to continue into 2027
