Thank you, Oak Park!

We're grateful to share that both Oak Park Public Safety ballot proposals have passed. On behalf of the City of Oak Park, thank you to our residents for your continued support and commitment to keeping our community safe.

These were straight renewals—not new taxes—that allow the city to continue funding essential public safety services and meeting long-term retirement obligations without diverting millions of dollars away from other vital city services.

The approved renewals include:

 Proposal 26-01: Renewal of the existing 7.0-mill Public Safety Retirement System millage for seven years, generating approximately $5.6 million annually to fund state-mandated public safety pensions and retiree healthcare.

 Proposal 26-02: Renewal of the existing 0.9850-mill Public Safety operational millage for ten years, generating approximately $791,000 annually to support public safety personnel, equipment, patrol vehicles, fire equipment, and daily operations.

Your support ensures Oak Park can continue providing the high-quality police and fire services our residents rely on while maintaining financial stability for the future.
