In times of extreme heat, the City of Oak Park provides residents with temporary shelter to prevent injury related to exposure to the elements.

The cooling center will be open Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Community Center at 14300 Oak Park Blvd.

Cooling Center Guidelines:

Individuals using the cooling center must comply with all Community Center rules and policies and adhere to the following guidelines:

• Personal Items: Please bring your own reading material and any other personal items you require. Amplified sound devices are prohibited.
• Food & Drink: Please supply your own water and snacks. Vending machines are available on site.
• Medical Care: Please note that there are no medical services provided at the Center.
