The City of Oak Park Department of Public Works will begin annual fire hydrant flushing this week. This important maintenance helps ensure hydrants operate properly for fire protection and supports the overall quality and reliability of our water system.

During flushing, some residents may notice temporary discoloration or cloudiness in their water, as well as brief changes in water pressure. If this occurs, run cold water from a faucet or bathtub for several minutes until the water runs clear.
