PUBLIC INFORMATION UPDATE:

A water main shut-off is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the City of Oak Park's water main repair and replacement program.

The following areas will be affected by the scheduled shut-off:

• Sutherland Avenue between Harding Avenue and Radclift Avenue.

To complete this work, water service in the affected area will be temporarily shut off beginning at 8 a.m. and is expected to be restored by 5 p.m. or as soon as able.

Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance by storing water for household needs and keeping bottled water on hand. During the shut-off, toilets may be flushed by pouring water directly into the bowl.

Following the restoration of service, some residents may notice temporary water discoloration or sediment. This is a common occurrence during water main work and is generally not a cause for concern. If discoloration occurs, run cold water from a bathtub faucet or laundry sink until the water runs clear. Residents should avoid washing clothes until the water has cleared.

To help minimize the possibility of discolored water entering household plumbing, residents are encouraged to avoid using water during the scheduled shut-off period.
