Halloween fun is just around the corner, and there’s still time to be part of one of Oak Park’s favorite fall traditions!

The Oak Park Recreation Department is accepting vehicle registrations for this year’s Trunk or Treat, taking place Oct. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Water Tower Social District. Residents, businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to decorate their vehicles and help create a festive afternoon for local families.

Participants who plan to hand out candy should arrive by 11:30 a.m. to set up. Each vehicle must bring a minimum of 1,000 pieces of candy and feature family-friendly or mildly spooky decorations and costumes. Creativity is encouraged, so start planning your theme and get ready to make this year's event unforgettable.

Vehicle registration can be made at Trunk or Treat 2026 Vehicle Registration, which will remain open through Oct. 9.
