The draft of the City of Oak Park’s 2027-2031 Recreation Plan is available for public review.
Copies are also available for review at the Community Center at 14300 Oak Park Blvd., City Hall at 14000 Oak Park Blvd., and Public Library at 14200 Oak Park Blvd. during business hours.
The City Council will hold a public hearing on the plan Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Oak Park City Hall.
The 2027-2030 update will serve as a guide in decision-making and aid in the targeting of available grant funding to continue the growth and improvement of the city’s parks and recreation offerings.
The plan includes an update of the city’s social and demographic characteristics as well as an updated inventory and review of all of the existing facilities and programs.
The inventory includes city, school, county, regional, state and private facilities.
In addition to identifying priorities in park and recreation amenities and offerings, an important goal of the plan is to establish a basis for funding the various improvement projects and programming.
