You need a completed animal-license-application.pdf , proof of rabies vaccination, and proof of sterilization (if applicable). Email your application and documents to sprister@oakparkmi.gov or deliver them to the Department of Public Safety, 13800 Oak Park Blvd. After you receive a confirmation, pay the license fee via Point & Pay (link provided in the confirmation) or pay at the counter (no processing fee).
Strays are transported to the City Pound, 10600 Capital St.
- Animal Control officers operate Mondays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Public Safety officers collect animals after hours.
- Loose dogs are held for four days before being transferred to the Michigan Humane Society or Oakland County Animal Control.
