City Manager Erik Tungate
City Manager Erik Tungate is the chief executive of the City of Oak Park and is responsible for the administration of all city departments.
Among many responsibilities, City Manager Tungate is charged with supervising all city personnel, the preparation and submittal of annual budgets, enforcing municipal ordinances and implementing the policies of the City Council.
He is credentialed by the International City/County Management Association and has a strong record of accomplishments working as the chief executive for several local governments. His area of expertise includes community and economic development, public safety, and financial management at the local, county and state levels.
He is a graduate of Western Michigan University (Bachelors, 1999) and Wayne State University (M.B.A., 2001) and has certifications in community and economic development from the International Public Management Association..
