Board of Review
The Board of Review hears appeals related to a property’s assessed value, taxable value, classification or transfer of ownership. The Board also considers applications for poverty exemptions.
The Board meets on the second and fourth Mondays in March.
The March Board of Review is the only opportunity to appeal an assessed value or tentative taxable value.
State law also requires the Board to hold special meetings in:
- July (Tuesday following the third Monday)
- December (Tuesday following the second Monday)
Poverty exemptions and corrections of qualified errors verified by the Assessor under MCL 211.53b can be considered during these July and December sessions. Valuation appeals can not be considered.

- Call the Assessor’s Office at (248) 691‑7550 to make an appointment.
- Non-residents may appeal by letter. The letter must be received in the Assessing Office by the due date.
