Donations
The Friends of the Library welcome donations, but the following restrictions are in place due to space limitations and low demand.
How much can be donated at one time?
One time per week, we can accept one medium sized box no larger than a copy paper box or two bags no larger than typical grocery bags.
What is NOT accepted?
-Textbooks
-Dictionaries, or other reference materials
-Encyclopedia sets or other large book sets
-Books that are outdated, inaccurate, or obsolete
-Magazines, newspaper, or pamphlets
-Damaged books or books with torn pages, odor, discoloration, writing/highlighting, mold, broken bindings, spine damage
-VHS, tapes, records
-Household objects, decor, or office supplies
If donated, these items will be recycled or disposed of.
Does the library ever put donations into the Library collection?
All donations are reviewed and considered for adding to the collection if the item is in new or like-new condition. Books that are popular, recently published, or represent popular topics, are often added to the Library collection.
Can I get a receipt for donating materials?
Yes, receipts are given upon request at the time of donation.
