Notary Services

Oak Park Public Library employs one Notary Public who is available by appointment.

Please call ahead to ensure the notary is available and to make an appointment: 248-691-7480, ext. 3

Walk-in notary requests will be accommodated as staff time permits.


Notary Fee & Procedures:

  • We charge $5.00 for each notarized document, regardless of the number of people who are required to sign.
  • Only cash or check is accepted as payment for notary services at the library.
  • Every person whose signature is being notarized must be present, with valid ID, at time of notarization.
  • If you are required to sign in the presence of a notary, do not sign the form in advance of your appointment.
  • Notaries in Michigan are not legally permitted to verify your eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • The notary reserves the right to refuse service for documents related to real estate transfer, if the ID authenticity is in question, if the ID is not from the State of Michigan, the documents are in a foreign language, a person seems reluctant to sign or confused, or for any other reason.
